Aloha,
We are delighted to announce that renowned Peak Oil expert Matthew R. Simmons will be our keynote speaker. Mr. Simmons is a Houston investment banker and author of Twilight in the Desert: the Coming Saudi Oil Shock and the World Economy. We have also engaged Peter S. Adler, Ph.D., President of The Keystone Center, to serve as a panel moderator for our conference. Dr. Adler brings a gifted sensibility to the art of consensus-building, along with a comprehensive knowledge of Hawaii.
The format of our conference centers on a panel analysis of the economic and community impacts of costly energy; a visions and solutions panel; and a fully engaged audience. We have sought the input of and are including panelists acknowledged to be forward-thinking, objective in their outlook and pragmatic in their approach to problem-solving. We welcome facts and incisive analysis in the spirit of intellectual integrity.
Please join us in considering, proposing and being a committed part of the solutions to the unique energy challenges faced by our island state.
